“Healing Stone Honu …

“... is a worldly turtle created with authentic mineral and gemstone watercolor pigments. These ground stones represent each continent of the earth. As I paint they are infused with one another to bring this Hawaiian Honu an energy all itsʻ own. Spiritual, medicinal and magical beliefs have been experienced cross culturally for centuries with many of these minerals known as healing stones.

“This Honu contains so many special pieces of the earth it is not possible to list them all here. Imagine the Native American Indians using the Minnesota Pipestone to make their peace pipes. Greek Warriors painting their bodies with Hematite to protect themselves from mortal wounds. Amazonite from Brazil was war paint used by the Female Warriors. In Australia, Serpentine is made into amulets to ward off harm as are many of the other stones. Cultures from Russia, Burma, Europe, China, Greenland and South Africa each have their own history involving these stones. Many also include medicinal beliefs. There is an abundance of information available on these subjects.

Weʻve got pictures of David and Linda too! I bet the pics are in their camera. Linda and David Eckhoff, (Champions), walked past the unpainted Bale of Honu in downtown Hilo and had to be involved. These dear people live in Montana most of the year (we miss them already!), we wish them all the best and are happy to have a part of them here in Hawai’i with this very special Honu.
