Marie Fontana
Marie used recycled paper glued to the fiberglass form with polyvinyl glue to give the illusion of metal. Added iron parts (screws, washers, etc.) may continue to rust outdoors. She has used this technique on artwork kept outside and it has remained beautiful for over 12 years.
“We are not taking care of our environment. If we don’t learn to change our ways, we are not going to be here that much longer,” says Fontana, who likes to deliver political statements with her artwork.
