Rose Foggia

Rose Foggia was raised on the flanks of Mt. Hood. As a school artist, she enjoyed creating large scale projects. Rose concentrated on Native American portraits through the ’70’s. In the early 80’s she traveled solo throughout Europe, Paris to the Greek Islands, finally settling in Tuscany for an inspirational year. Unique faces of Europe were most enjoyable for Rose to paint and illustrate with their distinctive dress and culture. Returning to Oregon Rose married longtime friend, Dr. Antony Clarke, atmospheric physicist. In the mid-80’s, the couple moved to Hawaii for his studies of global movement of pollution.

The tropical beauty of Hawaii remains Rose’s primary inspiration, with painting subjects ranging from historical Hawaiian culture to exotic birds and flowers.
Rose was commissioned to paint the portrait of 6 Hawaii Polo team riders and ponies racing across Mokuleia polo field.
Today Rose is working with a large local contingent for the preservation of Kapoho Bay which is critical habitat for hundreds of Honu, the Hawaiian large green sea turtles
