Patriciaʻs design concept is “to emphasize the importance of quality locally grown foods, organic farms and to educate people about the need to keep Genetically Modified Organisms, (GMO’s ), out of our food supply. It was perfect that Island Naturals asked me to do this because having been a vegetarian for almost 30 years, I am very interested in this subject.”

“My paintings are inspired by a passion for the beauty of life. Art is my joyous self-expression. It allows me the opportunity to delve into my reflective self. This for me is a form of meditation.
“As an artist I would like my viewers to share a vision that is natural in all of us. To view a world where fantasy and reality meet in vibrant colors and images that spark the awareness of the magic that is everywhere.
“My wish is that they walk away from my paintings and maintain that feeling as they go about the day, keeping a bit of the magic with them.”
Patricia Leo …
... knew the Hawaiian Islands were her true home in 1974 when she first arrived on Kauai from Ottawa, Canada. Now a long time resident of the Big Island, she enjoys her days working in her remote studio in the Koaʻe rainforest. Patricia immerses herself in this beautiful natural environment, creating and implementing fresh new ideas with acrylics and oils, while maintaining the traditional techniques used by the masters.
“My father was a draftsman and I would watch him day and night thinking how wonderful it would be if I could draw and paint as well as he did.”
Patriciaʻs art has been described as lyrical and magical because
she captures a dream world where fantasy and reality meet in vibrant images of nature.
“I am always inspired and continue to draw from Hawaiiʻs beauty. Going to the ocean is a time for learning as well as fun. Staring at the seaʻs horizon and studying cloud formations can be quite an art lesson.”

Patricia shares with us her vision of a realistic world…
...drenched in a fantasy of her own that is recognizable to us all. Her attention to the detail of Hawaii’s flora exemplifies her appreciation of the environment that surrounds her. Colors are vivid and light travels throughout her paintings, giving them movement of life and her own individual quality of magic. All of Patricia’s work is handcrafted. There is no digital enhancement, airbrush or photography involved in any of her original paintings.

“At this stage and time in man’s evolution, too much of our natural beauty and resources are being exploited and destroyed. We must maintain a global consciousness and guide ourselves toward the protection of our entire planet.”
