Sunny’s work is a blend of spontaneity and precision using the exotic, intricate shades and colors of nature around her. She has developed her style from a deep level of seeing with a combination of memory and imagination. Brilliant light shines from her canvases.
Pau’ole’s work is in private and corporate collections such as The American Cancer Society, Kamehameha Schools and Honolulu Publishing Company. She has known success in more than one field. She is an award winning graphic designer/illustrator for various publications in Hawaii.
California born Sunny Pau‘ole has lived in Hawai’i since 1975. She and her husband Mel Kealohalani Pau‘ole, a Hawaiian Paddle Carver, have lived on the Big Island since 1988. They invite you to visit them at the new Pau‘ole Art Gallery. Their name Pau’ole means “without end” and that is how they continue their bond with art and nature.
