Hall of Fame - Mahalos!
Each and every artist involved with this project has not only created a masterpiece with no thought of anything beyond being a Part of the Art, they have volunteered time for phone calls, trucks for the pick up and delivery of the Honu along with numerous activities and thoughts. Mahalo to each and every one of you. Words truly cannot express what it is that you have provided the residents and visitors of the Big Island.
Like Mandy*, you came and you gave without taking.
Mahalo nui loa all of you incredible people who enlisted in this project in a gigantic variety of ways…you truly gave to this project without asking or expecting anything in return. Thank you for giving up your own “self” to be part of something that is hugely greater than individual ego.

Thank you Gum Design), my midwives at (Icon Poly), and on and on to our Honu-ettes: Gina & Jeffrey who have been out “pounding the pavement” for Sponsors and increasing awareness of this project. Thank you!
We owe huge Mahalo’s to Michele Hulme, David Crisp and Bob Taylor of Maui Divers Jewelry. Not only are they producing a fabulous and exclusive piece for our Champion collection, they, who create from gold, treat their customers like gold and we are incredibly honored to be one.
To Russell Chin (Matson Navigation) and Conen Nakamura (Conen’s Freight Transport):
Transporting the 50 Honu was originally thought to be one of the most challenging parts of this project. Then you, Russell, walked through our doors and became Part of the Art. What a difference you have made, mahalo!!. Thank you also Mr. Nakamura. We have seen your trucks handling Hawaiʻiʻs products throughout the island and now we blow kisses every time we see one. Your driver was so sweet and caring, plus he steered the container onto a not-so-easy position! Mahalo nui loa!
We really must thank Mark from Hawaiian Express Service also. The information he provided us was incredibly useful. This man is so dear, kisses to you also Mark!
To our friend Corinne Yoshida (Honsador Lumber), you have always been an incredible lady. Your answers saved us a huge amount of time … how precious time is. Thank you Corinne, thank you so very much.
Thank you so much Mike Shewmaker for providing space in your warehouse as we dealt with all the logistics of 50 large Honu!
Weʻre not going to forget wonderful Gina Haʻo! Not only has she been spreading the word island wide, when we thought weʻd be in a crunch to find space AND a pick up truck, there she was with big Gina smiles.

IT’S A HONU WORLD™ is produced by Kinaole Group Ltd., Karen and Errol Kaufman, President and Vice President. This is a not for profit project. The producers have been and will continue to create this project simply because they wanted to see it happen. Costs have been covered by the producers for all materials and labor, with help from our beloved Champions (sponsors).
